Application of Electrogenerated Conducting Polymer in Electrochemical Photovoltaic Cells

Results are presented which show that electrochemically generated conducting polypyrrole films protect n-type semiconductor photoelectrodes from degradation while permitting electron exchange between the semiconductor and the electrolyte. The performance characteristics and stability of such film-covered photoelectrodes are discussed. (ERA citation 08:001950)
