Effect of Solid Particles on the Turbulence Flow of a Round Gaseous Jet. Mathematical and Experimental Study. Quarterly Technical Progress Report, March 1-May 31, 1982
The mathematical study aims at developing and validating a numerical solution procedure which predicts turbulent two-phase flows consisting of light carrier fluid and a dispersed phase of solid spherical particles of uniform size. The procedure embodies a new two-equation turbulence model which accounts for the influence of the dispersed phase on the structure of turbulence. The modeling of the various turbulence correlations is now complete. The finite-difference form of the equations has been coded; the code has been debugged and preliminary results have been obtained and compared with the experimental data. (ERA citation 07:054741)
