The Wyoming Coal Bottoms Recycle Study Design is being developed as a sensitivity to locating a commercial EDS plant in northeast Wyoming location using the bottoms recycle liquefaction mode. Operating conditions in liquefaction are 840 exp 0 F average reactor temperature, 60 minutes nominal residence time at a solvent-to-coal-to-bottoms-to-vacuum gas oil ratio of 1.6/1/.5/.2. The Wyoming Coal Bottoms Recycle Study Design utilizes partial oxidation of solidified vacuum pipestill bottoms for hydrogen generation and a hybrid boiler (solid vacuum bottoms/coal) to provide the liquefaction process heat. The methane/ethane product will be sold as high Btu gas (HBG). HBG will also serve as fuel for minor services in onsites. The offsite design effort will be concentrated on the water, fuel, steam and power systems, on the wastewater treating facilities, and on product shipping facilities. There will be minimum efforts (i.e., hold constant, prorate, or use judgment relative to earlier once-through Wyoming design) on the remainder of the offsites. Wherever possible, the previous study designs are to be used to develop the offsite design for the Wyoming Coal Bottoms Recycle Study Design. The onsite design basis for the Wyoming Coal Bottoms Recycle Study Design was documented as Interim Report FE-2893-84.
