Precipitation-Scavenging Pathways and Mechanisms: A Qualitative Overview

摘要

This paper provides a visualized overview of individual and composite mechanisms leading to the wet removal of pollution from the atmosphere. The subject is presented by disaggregating the composite scavenging process into several well-defined stages, which are examined individually to identify pertinent physical mechanisms. The paper concludes with a tabular summary of selected wet-removal models, which can be applied under appropriate circumstances for precipitation scavenging estimation and assessment.
