Department of Energy Contract No. AC04-82AL18071 is for a research and development study for the optimization of beryllium production operations for government use. Task I of the study is a comprehensive review of the current manufacturing operations at Elmore, Ohio. This report is the Task I report for the contract and includes process descriptions, environmental considerations, and other pertinent information for the current methods of producing beryllium.
