Maneuverability of Torpedoes in the Horizontal Plane

The equations of motion in the horizontal plane are studied for the case where the rudders of a torpedo are locked in either the port or starboard position, and secondly when held in the neutral position. For each case the equation of the resulting trajectory is found in terms of the known hydrodynamic coefficients. Effects of torpedo roll on the trajectory are also considered. (Author)
