Chemical constituents which have been disposed of at SRP facilities are identified and inventories estimated. These estimates are to be used in assessing the environmental impact of various waste management options at the Savannah River Plant. Several types of data were used in selecting the significant constituents including: (1) groundwater data (where available), (2) soil core data beneath the site (where available), (3) estimates of disposal based on periodic influent measurements (where available), and (4) estimates based on process records (where available). These same data were used to estimate the mass of chemical to be assessed. A simple dynamic mass balance model was used to determine the relative fractions of volatile organic constituents and tritium which volatilized to the air versus seeped into the ground. Materials selected for assessment, estimated mass disposed, and important assumption are tabulated for each functional group of waste sites. (ERA citation 12:044049)
