The scientific objectives deal particularly with the following points:n(a) investigation of thermal power radiated by the observed portion of the Earth surface (see after the section on the GlobalnRadiance Map).n(b) Identification of thermal anomalous areas and of their space/time variations.n(c) Earth space thermal exchange.n(d) Time/space variation of power radiated by the individualnvolcanic areas surveyed.n(e)tAnalysis of CO2 distribution over critical areas (if possible).n(f)tObservation of special phenomena (vegetation and snow changes, O3, etc.).
