摘要

An experimental program was conducted to measure the dielectric properties of several candidate space-shuttle antenna-window and thermal-protection-system (TPS) materials from ambient to approximately 1473 K. The results obtained during this measurement program are presented. A description of the high-temperature-measurement technique used is given. Several problem areas associated with the low-density reusable surface insulation (RSI) materials are discussed.nThe dielectric properties as a function of temperature of other dielectric materials being considered for possible space-shuttle applications are also presented.
