A computer program is described which computes the feedback and prefilter gains necessary for approximately decoupling the longitudinal mode of a linearized aircraft sys¬tem. The program was used to obtain the gains presented in NASA TN D-7363. The pro¬gram computes the prefilter gains necessary for decoupling the system in the steady-state case. The linear regulator problem was then solved to compute the feedback gains required to attain those steady-state conditions. The program can be used to provide steady-state decoupling of any multi-variable system that can be modeled by a linear time-invariant system of equations.
