摘要

Siderophile elements in the Earth's mantle are depleted relative to chondrites. This is most pronounced for the highly siderophile elements (HSEs), which are approx. 400x lower than chondrites. Also remarkable is the relative chondritic abundances of the HSEs. This signature has been interpreted as representing their sequestration into an iron-rich core during the separation of metal from silicate liquids early in the Earth's history, followed by a late addition of chondritic material.
