摘要

The present investigation has attempted to investigate some of the effects involved when high and low stress levels are combined in macrocrack propagation tests. The tests have been executed to establish the relative importance of various effects and to decide upon areas of interest which warrant a more detailed and precise investigation. It is intended to use the information to make more rational attempts at correlating significant features of various fatigue signals to the actual fatigue life. In other words it is hoped that these tests provide information which will be pertinent to selecting parameters which should be used in fatigue signal counting methods.
