The principal components of the advanced-facility concept are —nHigh-temperature gaa-cooled reactor (HTGR) operating a helium-Brayton/ammonia-Rankine binary cycle with a helium reactor-core exit temperature of 980°C (1800°F)nAcyclic d-c generators (obviates rectification)nHigh-pressure, high-current-density electrolyzers based on solid-polymer electrolyte (SPE) technology (obviates mechanical compression).
