DESIGN OF A DIGITAL VOICE DATA COMPRESSION TECHNIQUE FOR ORBITER VOICE CHANNELS

This report describes a new technique, delayed decision adaptive predictive coding, and demonstrates its potential advantages over conventional adaptive predictive coding (APC).nThe main output of this study, is a set of experimental simulations recorded on analog tape, which forms an integral part of this report. As discussed in Section 4.0, the tape demonstrates the potential improvement achievable with delayed decision APC over conventional APC, as demonstrated on two FM broadcast segments.
