ACCURATE INTEGRATION OF ORBITS USING DELAUNAY – SIMILAR ELEMENTS

This paper discusses the application of DS elements formulation in the variation-of-parameters (VOP) orbit generator capability of the Goddard Tra¬jectory Determination System (GTDS). The DS elements formulation uses the true anomaly as the independent variable. Two versions of the DS orbit generators are studied. Numerical results are presented for the resulting orbit generators, including cost (number of perturbing acceleration evaluations) versus accuracy plots.
