Some applications of laser Doppler velocimeters are discussed. They include low velocity applications such as flow around a wing profile, free jet probing and comparison with hot-wire anemometry performance, combination of laser Doppler velocimeters to a Bragg cell for very low speed flow measurements, retrodiffusion measurements, etc., as well as high speed flow applications such as flow measurements in the ISL supersonic wind tunnel and in industrial wind tunnels and boundary layer measurement in a supersonic wind tunnel. Another application of the laser velocimeter is high temperature flow research such as flame measurement in a nozzleless combustion chamber.
