摘要

A piloted exploratory investigation of a decelerating approach of a twin-engine jet transport aircraft on a fixed-base flight simulator has been performed. The symmetric equations of notion were programmed on an analog computer. Four airline pilots contributed to the execution of the "flight tests" during which five approach procedures were investigated. These procedures, all flown in atmospheric turbulence, were the following:n- A conventional approachn- A semi-automatic decelerating approach with autothrottle and autoflapn- A semi-automatic decelerating approach with autoflap onlyn- Fully manual decelerating approaches.
