The increasing communication demand in digital satellite commu-nications requires an efficient and flexible use of the available band-widths.nTo meet such a requirement, new systems are being proposed and designed by communications engineers. In the context of the time-division multiple-access (TDMA) system, significant research efforts are presently devoted to the performance and tradeoff evaluation of a digital link in¬corporating regenerative repeaters in satellite transponders.
