CONTINUOUS THICKENING OF SLUR IN INCLINED LAMELLA SETTLERS

As experimental methods and configurations of the thickeners studied were improved simultaneously during the course of the preliminary programme, only a limited number of conclusions can be drawn from the results obtained and observations made;only illustrative quantitative data have been presented in this report.nThe capacity per unit of horizontally projected area of a one lamella thickener consisting of two inclined plates is always lower than that of a classical thickener with vertical walls having the same horizontal surface area. Under good experimental conditions efficiencies of up to 70—80% as compared to vertical thickeners were obtained.
