Effect of Paramagnetic Impurities on NMR in Superionic Conductors

Relaxation of mobile exp 7 Li nuclei in LiAlSiO sub 4 and other Li exp + conductors is shown by the high temperature T sub 1 : T sub 2 ratio to be caused by paramagnetic impurities. The stationary exp 27 Al, however, is relaxed by quadrupole coupling. (ERA citation 04:001117)
