Summary of Atmospheric Wind Design Criteria for Wind Energy Conversion System Development

A highly condensed version of Chapters 2 through 5 on wind characteristics from the Engineering Handbook on the Atmospheric Environmental Guidelines for Use in Wind Turbine Generator Development, NASA TP-1359, is presented. Basic design values of the most significant wind criteria are presented in graphical format. The design values are given without discussion of the physical processes involved or of the analytical methods used to develop the design curves.
