摘要

A model based on the classical solution for a cracked infinite sheet under uniaxial tension is presented. The effect of finite specimen width on the net section stress distribution is taken into account by a correction factor depending only on the crack aspect ratio. An effective crack length concept is introduced to account for plasticity affects. The crack extension force value obtained for the net section yield is twice that obtained using linear elastic fracture mechanics. Formulas are derived for compliance, grip displacements, crack opening displacements, and the crack extension force.
