Spacecad 1979: Computer-Aided Design of Electronics for Space Applications

The SIRIO matoilite concluded its two years of no¬minal life in orbit in September 1079. The statue of the satellite is very good so that a further period of experiments is foreseen. Concerning propagation, attenuation statistics at 11-12 and 17-18 GHz are given, concerning the three Italian stations of Fucino, Lario and Spino d Adda. The results obtained by the international partici¬pants are also reported. Studies now in progress are illustrated, with particular reference to fre¬quency extrapolation of the attenuation statistics. Communication and other experiments carried out in the two years programme are described and discussed. Programmes for the third year of experiments are also presented.nFinally some considerations about the application of frequencies above 10 GHz to satellite communica¬tion systems are developed.
