Volterra Integral Equations and Semigroups of Operators

摘要

A semigroup approach for the study of Volterra integral equations of convolution type (renewal equations) is developed. The variation of constants formula, the adjoint semigroup, and the decomposition of the state space according to the spectrum of the infinitesimal generator are discussed.
