Entrainment and Deposition of Drops in a Dispersed 2-Phase Flow: An Experimental Investigation

Droplet entrainment and deposition in a vertical pipe-flow configuration were investigated, in order to simulate two phase flow in nuclear reactors. Entrainment of water drops from a water pool in which a turbulent air flow breaks through; and deposition of the entrained water drops on flow-containing walls were studied. Entrainment and deposition correlations which permit the evaluation of these processes under any circumstances are presented.
