摘要

The effect of subcritical crack growth of ceramic materials on lifetime in static bending test and lifetime predictions is treated. Formulas of lifetime and dynamic bending strength are discussed. A creep behaviour prediction procedure is proposed Experiments on Al2O3 and HPSN give a good agreement between predicted and measured lifetimes for linear elastic material behavior. If creep behavior dominates, the region of expected lifetimes and the qualitative shape of lifetime distribution can be predicted too.
