Theoretical Principles of Diffusion Welding and Conclusions for Its Application

Diffusion welding enables joints of metals and nonmetals to be made with each other and between each other by the interdiffusion of atoms across an interface formed when materials are brought into contact with each other. A model is described for diffusion welding under vacuum taking into consideration the physical and chemical processes essential for good joint formation, and the various separate stages involved in fabricating such a joint.
