Effect of an Elastic Foundation and of Dissipative Forces on the Stability of Fluid Conveying Pipes

A theoretical analysis is presented of the effect of an elastic foundation and various damping forces on the stability of fluid conveying pipes. Both cantilevered pipes and pipes supported at both ends are considered. The results of extensive numerical calculations are presented in the form of diagrams and compared with other known results and with some approximate calculations.
