摘要

Coherent systems are described in terms of measurement of the scattering matrix and noncoherent systems in terms of the Mueller matrix. The similarity with the calibration of vector reflectometers is emphasized and exploited. Calibration is achieved by measuring the receiver voltages corresponding to scattering of the transmitted states by an odd bounce reflector and appropriately orientated thin wire gratings.
