Users Guide to CAESAR (Airborne Experimental Scanner for Applications in Remote Sensing)

The user guide to the charge coupled device (CCD) Airborne Experimental Scanner for Applications in Remote Sensing (CAESAR), containing spectral, radiometric and geometric specifications, is presented. The architecture and construction of CAESAR are described. The spectral, radiometric and geometric specifications of the different modes of the CAESAR CCD scanner are outlined. The quick-look nonprocessed image, and the preprocessing via optical pairs are presented. All relevant parameters are given in an extensive table. A set of specification forms is designed to facilitate the definition of test flights.
