Proposta de Um Sistema Paralelo Com Aplicacoes Em Processamento de Imagens (Proposal for a Parallel System with Image Processing Applications)

A short summary is made of famous parallel machines already developed for digital image processing and is presented as a natural extension. The principle characteristics of the components, which are being studied with modified parallel architecture and operation in the SIMD mode, connected with the instrument already developed for its programming and some examples of basic simulation applications explaining the advantages and disadvantages of its utilization are shown. An architecture is proposed for a system based on this component and connected to an IBM PC-type microcomputer, with possible applications in image processing. Finally, possible future development are suggested which will increase the functionality of the system.
