Repartition Macroscopique de l'Ensimage de Fibres (Macroscopic Distribution of Fiber Finish)

摘要

The uniformity of finish distribution in carbon fibers used in the manufacturing of aerospace structures is studied. A chemical and an optical method were developed. The second is based on the measurement of transmitted infrared radiation; it is fast and easy to implement, but the information is limited to overall data and slow scrolling. It is found that the two methods are complementary, and if used simultaneously allow an easy detection of finish-deficient zones, and a reasonable measure of the distribution of finish.
