Information for major NASA satellite missions is presented, including launch vehicle used, a program overview, program objectives, payload descriptions, project results, and major participants. Missions for 1986 include Space Shuttle Mission 61-C, carrying the RCA Satcom K-1 communications satellite, the Materials Science Laboratory-2 (MSL-2), and 13 Get Away Special (GAS) Experiments; Space Shuttle Mission 51-L, whose mission included the Teacher in Space program as well as the delivery of a Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS-B) and the Spartan-Halley experiment; the launching of a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellite (NOAA-10, also identified as NOAA-G); and the launch of a Navy Fleet Communications Satellite (FLTSATCOM F-7). Missions for 1987 are the launch of a Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES-7, also designated as GOES-H) and the launch of the Palapa B-2 communications satellite.
