New Library of CAMAC Routines for the Control of the System Crate by a Microvax in the VAXELN Environment

A library of CAMAC routines implemented using the digital VAXELN development system to perform input/output operations on CAMAC from microVAX is described. The CES SCI 2280 module is used as Qbus-CAMAC interface. The first part of the library follows the NIM/ESONE recommendations. The second part contains a set of routines optimized for fast accesses to the CAMAC. The routines manage single CAMAC operations, sequences of single CAMAC operations, LAM service and block transfer via direct memory access (DMA), using the CES AMC 2281 as hardware DMA control module. The software will be used in the data acquisition system of the MACRO experiment.
