Ambient temperature tensile properties were studied after superplastic deformation at 940 C and up to 200 percent elongation at a strain rate of 0.00022 1/sec. The material was also tested after static annealing at 940 C to separate the effects of superplastic deformation from elevated temperature exposure. Preheating and furnace cooling results in a reduction of strength and an increase in elongation. Superplastic deformation produces a reduction both in tenacity and elongation. The variations in mechanical properties are related to variations in phase size and morphology, and crystallographic texture.
