Etic: A Multi-User Computer Aided Design (CAD) Database Management System

摘要

A multi-user system for Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications, which offers a formalism and assistance for describing a CAD activity is presented. It allows users to describe and manipulate CAD objects in a project environment. During the project lifetime, it allows definition, checking and merging of project team tasks. The proposed system offers a design environment where it is possible to cooperate and exchange tools, structures, and objects according to initial project rules. The originality of the system consists in the fact that it manages work sharing and task merging. It also offers tools to express object structures, to manipulate objects assuming the dynamic management of links and constraints defined in object structures.
