摘要

A porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane possessing a hydrophilic and hydrophobic double structure is used for the construction of an ammonia-electrode based enzyme electrode. Adenosine deaminase was part of this asymmetric membrane, thus leading to protection of the mechanically weak enzyme layer by the robust polytetrafluoroethylene matrix. The hydrophobic part of the membrane acted as a gas-permeable membrane. Therefore, an adenosine electrode could be constructed easily by using only a single membrane and a pH electrode. The advantage of employing this single membrane adenosine electrode is that the response speed is greatly increased and the electrode construction is simpler, compared to that of the conventional two-membrane electrodes.
