摘要

The quasi three dimensional (Q3D) calculation method is described. It is based on the hypothesis of axisymetric surfaces and is widely used in turbomachinery design. An attempt to determine the validity of the method is presented. The model is based on the calculation of the 3D velocity and total pressure field around a streamline in a steady incompressible inviscid flow. It is shown that a first order approximation can lead to accurate and important results.
