Microwave Remote Sensing at INPE (Institute for Space Research) Brazil: Concepts and Future Prospects of Soil Moisture Studies

The experiences obtained by INPE at microwave remote sensing, applied specifically to soil moisture studies, presenting the main concepts and prospects for future research, are described. In the approach proposed, information derived from ground truth, airborne and orbital data, as well as meteorological data, are important inputs.
