Heat exchange and charge loss inside tubes carrying boiling ammonia, such as those found in nuclear power stations, were studied in the temperature range from 30 to 70 C. Mass flow, thermal load, and saturation pressure were investigated. For charge loss during two phase flow, an expression for the weight of a liquid-vapor mix column agrees with the experiments. Flow rate is not significant in either vertical or horizontal pipes.
