CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Benefits, Goals, Stepping-Stones and Techniques. Proposals for the Scientific Program of the European Reserch Center on Flow, Turbulence, and Combustion

摘要

The benefits of computerized simulation of flow, turbulence, and combustion in the aerospace, automobile, power-generation, vehicular and aircraft-propulsion, chemical and process, nuclear, food-manufacturing, pharmaceutical, environmental, and biomedical domains are outlined. Industrially or socially useful goals which might reasonably be achieved by the end of the first decade of intensive collaborative work, and stepping-stone projects, i.e., those which need to be achieved first in order that the grander goals can be achieved later, are summarized.
