Kinematics of Presupposition

The problems of presupposition are addressed under three groups: the projectionof presuppositions from truth functionality connected compounds, the behavior of presuppositions in quantificational contexts, and the accommodation of presupposed information. These three topics are studied, each study starting with an empirically oriented subsection concerning the chief problem(s) to be addressed and followed by further study containing the mixture of technicality and speculation that constitutes the theory. The links between existing context change models of presupposition and Veltman's update semantics are addressed. The interaction between presupposition, quantification and anaphora are addressed. The modeling of 'global accommodation' within a CGP (Context Gauge Potential) model account is shown. A comparison with some other types of accounts is given.
