摘要

Secondary bending often occurs in structural joints, and to assess its influenceon the fatigue life enhancement technique of hole cold-expansion, an experimental program has been undertaken. The results indicate that the effect of cold working is substantially reduced in specimens with secondary bending. For any marked extension in fatigue life, additional treatments, for example, the combination of cold expansion and interference fit, are required.
