Flight tests of laminar-flow control on a modified NASA JetStar airplane enabled an investigation of the effect on boundary-layer transition of surface disturbances representative of rivets used in modern wing construction. Some of the surface irregularities were located in the high crossflow region of the wing forward on the front spar.
