Eddy viscosity transport equations and their relation to the k-epsilon model

摘要

A formalism will be presented that allows the transformation of two-equation eddy viscosity turbulence models into one-equation models. The transformation is based on an assumption that is widely accepted over a large range of boundary layer flows and that has been shown to actually improve predictions when incorporated into two-equation models of turbulence. Based on that assumption, a new model will be tested in great detail against a previously introduced one-equation model and against its parent two-equation model.
