Note on the Effect of Size of Aircraft upon the Difficulties involved in Landing an Aircraft

The effect of aircraft size upon the response of an aircraft during those manoeuvres which are commonly employed in landing has been examined, and in this way an assessment has been made of the way in which the difficulties experienced by the pilot will go up as aircraft size increases.nOn the basis of the work summarised in this note it is concluded that the problems associated with landing (from the pilot's point of view at any rate) are unlikely to be aggravated to such an extent, as the size of aircraft increases up to the limiting size considered in this report (300 ft span), as to make landing really difficult.
