EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF AIR-FLOW UNIFORMITY AND PRESSURE LEVEL ON WIRE CLOTH FORnTRANSPIRATION-COOLING APPLICATIONS

The problem of producing uniform air flow through a calendered or cold-rolled sheet of brazed stainless-steel corduroy wire cloth was investigated on 20x250 mesh cloth in regions of low permeability. The effect of exit pressure level was determined at various exit pressures on 20X200;20X250, and 28X500 mesh wire cloth. In addition, permea¬bility and strength data were obtained for 20X200 mesh wire cloth to supplement results previously published on other meshes.
