A description is given of an apparatus for studying the hydrodynamics and heat-transfer during the flow of helium-4 (liquid, liquid-vapour mixtures and in the super-critical state).nPreliminary data are given on the hydraulic resistance and heat-transfer properties during the two-phase flow of helium in a pipe with a diameter of about 0.45 mm and a length of about 1 m.
