A CORRECTION TO THE CONSTANT FOR MASTER VISCOMETERS ON ACCOUNT OF SURFACE TENSION

It will be seen that the difference of surface tension of water from oil, and the difference of menisoii conditions in master viscometers, will introduce a systematic error into the first calibration;since the error is in the basic stage it would carry through the whole scale. The object of this exercise was to determine, experimentally, the magnitude of this error 30 that a correction wight be made, as required, to the NPL Viscosity Scale.
