Experimental techniques were the only method available for assumingndynamic properties of machines, or components, till a few years ago. One had to make a model of the structure and test it in order to get the informations needed. In these years large arid powerful digital computers made computing programs for static and dynamic analysis a practical proposition.nThe main advantage of this method is that no models or prototypes need to be made nor tests performed, as only such informations as are conveyed from engineering drawings are need. These programs are no futile academic exercise.
